Students of  Federal University of  Technology, Owerri have been mandated to resume studies following the directive by the Ministry of Education that all Federal universities resume academic sesssion immediately. Following this directive, all academic staff of the university have been sacked and their posts made open for new appointments since Monday 2nd December. This was the result of the blatant refusal to commence work by the staff .Date for the examnations after t he 5 month old strike has been slated for next monday 9th Dec. 2013.This new development has been met with mix ed feelings rm students and the public at large. According to a 200 level chemical engineering student(names withheld) "... yes, we so wanted for te strike to be called off. what edid not bargain for is this little period f one week that has been given to us to prepare for exams! after 5 whole months of inactivity?" he lamented bitterly. According to another student" I know they will nw claim we had  five months for revision and preparation but te hole thing is still not fair. we a re happy to be resuming school but this Monday 9th exam thing is too short a notice"
